The Challenge
On top of everyday youth challenges like school work, bullying, making
healthy friendships, and taking care of their body, military children
have to navigate through additional challenges like moving every 2-3
years, constantly making new friends, and the lingering stress of their
parent's dangerous job.
When a parent deploys, returns home with an injury, or still worse,
does not return at all, our military children are expected to process
feelings of separation, fear, and sadness, while they maintain their
school and family lives.
